Dairy Fairy Handsfree Pumping Bra Review

When I was pumping milk for Cub, I definitely did not need a pumping bra. I used a manual pump, and pumped only occasionally. With Little Miss Cub, she’s not taking a bottle any more often than big brother did, but I’m pumping daily with my Medela Freestyle for the Calgary Mothers’ Milk Bank.  

So, while the Dairy Fairy Rose may very well be a handsfree pumping bra, it also happens to be THE prettiest piece of underwear I’ve ever owned. And while I seriously am not trying to impress anyone with my undies these days (there was an Irish Twins Scare last night… so the uglier the undies, the better, really), when you haven’t brushed your hair in four days, it’s amazing what a glimpse of your fuller-than-normal chest in a gorgeous bra can do for the morale. 

The icing on the cake, of course, is that I get to feel pretty AND have my hands free while I’m pumping! Since I can generally justify my inability to tend to the children when I’m hooked up to my pump, it’s ME time! I can blog, or, eat ice cream!

But I actually find I am getting the most use out of my bra when I’m multi-tasking in an even more extreme way: pumping on one side and feeding Little Miss on the other! And there’s a hand to spare for a selfie:

Note that the Rose is not actually a nursing bra, so it doesn’t have clasps to detach the cups. However, there’s enough stretch that I can pull it down. If I were to choose a model again, however, I’d take one that’s a pumping AND nursing bra, since I do both.

The Medela flanges are held in place perfectly by the slits in the Rose cups, maintaining perfect suction.
