Does your mattress talk to you? Mine does. When I lie down on my Leesa mattress, my heavy with almost-ready-to-be-born-twins body descends lightly into her supportive core, and I can hear her say, “You can relax now, mama, I’ve got you.” I can feel all the pregnant-mama pressure I carry with me throughout the day slip away. I don’t even need to bring a pregnancy pillow to bed with me: my girl Leesa has my back (and tummy, and neck and legs).
Our family’s sleeping arrangements are slightly unorthodox, but based on what I hear from my followers, not that unusual. We operate on one simple principle: Whatever works. That is, whatever gets each member of our family the best quality sleep every night is what we’re going to do. That would be why there is currently a twin Leesa mattress on a bedframe wedged perpendicularly between the wall and our queen-sized bed. Referred to as “the overflow bed,” it’s actually mainly MY bed.
While the occupants of the queen-sized bed vary, oddly enough it is often the smallest member of our family (the 2.5 year old) who spends most of the night there. But not to worry, I like keeping the most comfortable mattress in the house to myself!
So what’s so special about a Leesa mattress? Well, I’m no mattress expert. I am, however, a three-time pregnancy veteran, so I am an expert in the discomfort that comes with growing humans inside one’s self. Much of that discomfort comes from being unable to get comfortable in bed to get some much-needed rest.
The first time I lay down on my side (the only real sleeping position possible for most pregnant women) on my Leesa, I let out an audible sigh of relief. I don’t want to say that I sink into the mattress, because that isn’t quite what it’s like. It’s more like I lie down and am firmly but pleasantly engulfed by a supportive platform. Not too firm, but not too squishy, either. I don’t toss and turn to get comfortable because I immediately am. Sometimes when the going gets tough as a stay-at-home mom, I put on Paw Patrol and escape upstairs just to lie down on my Leesa for a few minutes until my absence is noted.
But Leesa isn’t just for pregos! It is designed for all sleepers, and so far all the sleepers in my family have had a turn in it.
The mattress is composed of
-
- a 2-inch Avena™ foam top layer for cooling and breathability
- a 2-inch memory foam middle layer for body contouring and pressure relief
- a 6-inch dense core support foam for durability and structure for sleepers of all sizes
