Sweet Pea Newborn Diaper Review

Sweet Pea Newborn AIO Review ~ Maman Loup's Den

I received this item free for review. All opinions remain my own.

I have to give bonus points to newborn diapers that fit for longer than average. While our Sweet Pea newborn AIO’s upper weight limit is 12 lbs, I’m confident we will surpass that because we still haven’t undone the rise snaps and there’s still lots of room at the waist.

The Sweet Pea AIO is designed with a sewn-in microfiber soaker (similar to the BumGenius newborn) but also has a pocket opening which means you can easily add absorbency and the dry time is cut down. (It comes with a microfiber booster, too.) There’s also a slight opening at the front the help pull through any extra stuffing and help with drying.

Being one of the most generously-sized diapers in our review stash, we first used it when Little Miss was around 8 lbs:

As you can see, now between 10-11 lbs, we have so much room to grow:

Things I love about our Sweet Pea AIO:

  • Generous sizing, beyond the listed weight limit, but without being bulky on babes at the lower end;

  • Pocket opening for very easy boosting, meaning that as baby grows, the diaper’s absorbency can be increased so you can take advantage of the generous fit;
  • The pocket is wide enough that it’s easy to stuff and it’s also easy to find boosters that fit inside;
  • Stay dry fleece against baby’s skin;
  • Very affordable, and the price is made even better by the fact that it will fit nicely for longer than others we’ve tested.

Things I like less about our Sweet Pea AIO:

  • A natural-fiber-blend booster would make this awesome diaper even awesomer;
  • I’d like to see stronger, higher quality aplix, as you can see there’s some curling:

  • The fleece has gotten pilly very fast, and this is just an aesthetic observation.

Bottom line:

Very generous fit which most definitely surpasses the listed limit: the pocket means that as you increase the sizing you can also easily increase the absorbency to match. The diaper is user friendly and definitely a good one to leave for the babysitter. I prefer to use a bamboo or hemp booster rather than the included microfiber. I’d love to see slightly higher quality materials to augment the appeal of this diaper even more!

    I have a set pea one size cover which I love but I’m not sure if I’ll go with their newborn aio. My babies tend to be small so it seems like this diaper might take a while to fit.
