I received a free set of soaps in exchange for promoting this initiative.
One of my favourite, ridiculously easy steps I like to recommend to readers looking to green their beauty routines is to make the switch to bar soaps instead of bottled body wash. Bar soap that is purchased in bulk or in paper packaging means a lot less waste than body washes in plastic bottles, plus, bar soap with safe, natural ingredients is inexpensive and easy to find.
Guess what’s even better than run-of-the-mill, easy-to-understand, safe-for-you-and-the-earth bar soap? Bar soap that supports a great cause!
Family-owned, sustainable living-obsessed Eartheasy offers practical products and information on green living. In existence for around 14 years, they were amon ghte 10 finalists selected in the 2003 Stockholm Challenge, an international award program for websites that benefit humanity.
Eartheasy has come out with a line of four bar soaps, each one supporting a different conservation goal with 100% of net proceeds.
1. The Orca / Unscented Bar: pure, simple, and 100% unscented; this soap is great for super sensitive skin. Ingredients: Organic Saponified Palm, Coconut and Olive Oil.
2. The Orangutan / Tangermint Scrub Bar: tangerine, peppermint, and oatmeal; this soap is fresh, fruity, and naturally exfoliating. Ingredients: Organic Saponified Palm, Coconut and Olive Oils, Essential Oils, Organic Oatmeal, and Organic Bran.
3. Leatherback Turtle / Double Mint Bar: cool, refreshing, and energizing; this soap contains both peppermint and spearmint essential oils. Ingredients: Organic Saponified Palm, Coconut and Olive Oils, Essential Oils, Natural Coloring.
4. Honeybee / Honey Oatmeal Bar: a naturally exfoliating soap that is both moisturizing and soothing. Ingredients: Organic Saponified Palm, Coconut Oil and Olive Oils, Organic Oatmeal, Organic Bran, Honey.
It’s hard to say which of these soaps I like best: the unscented bar is awesome for my son and I’ll also use for the baby on the way without any concerns. I adore the Double Mint Bar for the tingling, refreshing sensation on my skin. Both the Tangerine and Honey Oatmeal Bar have exfoliating properties, without those gross, plastic microbeads!
