My children are genetically predisposed to love a good fruit snack, just like their father. This year I am turning him and my kids onto Welch’s® Fruit Snacks. Each pouch provides a lot of great taste and the first ingredient is fruit!
At the beginning of the month, Cub started full-time kindergarten. The most daunting aspect of this milestone for me was the daily requirement of packing a lunch and three separate snacks. As you know, I don’t buy a lot of packaged, single-serving foods, but with twins in my belly and a toddler at my heels, I realized I would need to compromise.
I pack Cub’s lunch in reusable containers, and two of his snacks are homemade, such as sliced fruits or vegetables and banana bread or granola bars he bakes with his dad. His third snack, although likely the one he chooses to eat first every day, is a package of Welch’s Fruit Snacks and a cheese string. That I received a huge hug and a “Thank you! Thank you!” for this just goes to show how much he likes a good, store-bought snack.
As for Little Miss, she is a constant snacker. My son has to be coaxed into eating, but my daughter needs to be dragged away from the pantry and fridge multiple times a day. I never had to pack snacks when out and about with my son: he rarely complained of hunger. But my daughter … that’s another story. While I have had to get into the habit of remembering snacks, the upside is that snacks work to quash a temper tantrum before it hits the point of no return. A couple of pouches of Welch’s Fruit Snacks in my super-hip fanny pack plus a ration in the car and I have my secret weapon for making it through an outing.
Welch’s Fruit Snacks are fat free, gluten free and contain no preservatives or artificial flavours. For my kids and my husband, a pouch of Welch’s Fruit Snacks is seen as a delicious treat, for me, it’s an easy snack to keep on hand at home and on the go.
