Garden by the Sea: Natural Body Care for Babies & Kids {+ Coupon Code}

Garden by the Sea - Natural Body Care for Babies & Kids

I received these items at no cost to facilitate my review. All opinions remain my own.

I recently published my review of Garden by the Sea’s products for grown ups: shampoo bars, a line of facial care products for every skin type and more. I’m still loving my rebooted beauty regimen and will definitely be replenishing my supply when the time comes. Now it’s time to tell you all about the handmade body care products designed for children, which the New Brunswick-based Mom and Daughter team sent for Little Miss and her big brother.Garden by the Sea Baby ProductsNatural Baby Goat’s Milk Soap

Gentle suds for washing Cub and Little Miss from head to toe and perfectly suitable for the grown ups, too. This bar includes soothing oatmeal, calendula and chamomile, so it’s ideal for cleansing irritated skin (including diaper rash). We love this soap, and I feel good about using a handmade soap with such gentle ingredients.Garden by the Sea Baby SoapBath Bombs

Cub hates baths. He hates baths more than some of the cats I’ve owned. The promise of releasing a Garden by the Sea bath bomb into the tub was enough to get him excited about bath time! He loved them so much, and it made our bath time routine so delightful, that I sacrificed the bath bombs Garden by the Sea had sent for ME.Bath Bombs in actionI love that these bath bombs contain no artificial colours or decorative chunky bits (we’ve used ones before that stain the tub and leave sparkles behind). The scents are appealing without being overwhelming or headache-inducing. Most of all, I don’t have to wrangle my son into the bath if he knows there’s a Garden by the Sea Bath Bomb in his future!

Sweet Baby Dreams Fizzing Lavender Bath Sands

One of my favourite Mommy & Me activities is bath time with Little Miss Cub. Sometimes we bathe together, sometimes she goes solo, but either way I have loved using our Sweet Baby Dreams Bath Sands. The light lavender scent is calming, though I can’t pretend it settles Little Miss right down. Baths make her splashy and giggly, not sleepy!

A lot of bath water gets into Little Miss’s mouth. She is particularly fond of sucking on wash cloths.
There are a lot of bath time products that I would not want anywhere near my baby’s mouth. Containing baking soda, corn starch, citric acid, epsom salts, olive oil, water and lavender essential oils, I am just fine letting Little Miss suck on a wash cloth if the bath water has Sweet Baby Dreams bath sands dissolved in it. These bath sands are also great for soothing minor skin irritations!

Baby Bliss Lavender Bath & Massage Oil

After a nice soak with our bath sands, I moisturize Little Miss with our Baby Bliss massage oil. It smells divine, and since we co-sleep, I get to appreciate the scent, too! She seems to find post-bath massage time pretty hilarious, since I guess it must tickle! I also use the oil on Cub, whose skin is quite dry. Garden by the Sea Baby Massage OilSince massage oil inevitably gets on her fingers, which are always in her mouth, it’s important for me to choose a product with nothing but the safest ingredients. I’m not concerned about a bit of jojoba oil, peach kernel oil and rice bran oil getting accidentally swallowed! The vitamin-rich oils in Garden By the Sea’s recipe are perfect for locking in moisture and preventing and treating irritations. Indispensable with Calgary’s super-dry climate!

Little Lily’s Baby Bum Spray

You know how Cub hates baths? In an ideal world where I had infinite energy and patience, I would at least take a wash cloth and soap to his little boy bits every night. I do not. The next best thing is a nice spray down and wipe with Little Lily’s Baby Bum Spray before I get him into his pajamas.

Totally cloth diaper-safe, Little Lily’s Baby Bum Spray and cloth wipes eliminate the need for disposable wipes. It can also clean sticky hands and faces, so it packs a mean punch in the diaper bag! Containing the same oils as the massage lotion, plus aloe vera juice, this spray is ultra hydrating for baby’s bum. Tea tree and lavender oil add a nice scent and cleansing properties.

Baby Breeze’s Butt & Body Butter

Calgary’s dry air leaves Little Miss Cub’s cheeks brutally chapped. I apply this balm on her cheeks as a protective, moisturizing layer. Papa Wolf was concerned that she was getting some in her mouth. I was not. It’s just 100% avocado oil. Edible!!

If her bum is looking a bit dry, this balm is totally safe to use with her cloth diapers. I also like to use it on my own lips and my chapped hands.

Little Lily’s Healing Balm

Garden by the Sea Healing Balm

I’ve been very lucky with Little Miss in that she has had practically no run-ins with diaper-area irritation. I have been using Little Lily’s Healing Balm on her cheeks and self-inflicted scratches on her face. She seems to file her nails into razors when I’m not looking, then draws blood as she swats at her eyes when she’s tired. In the meantime, I pick incessantly at the skin on my fingers. We both benefit from our Little Lily’s Healing Balm! As per Garden’s advice, I don’t apply this product anywhere where she would be sucking on it. I do find the scent of this ointment quite strong (I’m thinking it’s the patchouli oil), but it is not off-putting in any way. It’s a great barrier cream for babies sensitive to wetness, and I haven’t had any issues using it with our cloth diapers. (Garden by the Sea does recommend using a liner. I like to live dangerously and I haven’t bothered.)

Love that the bath bombs are made without artificial dyes or additives. So many conventional body care products contain irritating chemicals such as sodium laureth sulfate, etc. that cause UTIs, exzema & dry, itchy skin.

These products sound amazing. I love using all natural products….period. Babies especially need the pure products and I am happy to see that there are more companies supporting this.
