Kokoala Babywearing & Maternity Coat Extension Review

Ingenuity. That’s the word that comes to mind when I use my Kokoala Coat Extension. It’s just such a smart design, and it works so flawlessly. We don’t all have the budget or the desire to purchase a specific maternity/babywearing coat. I’m not even sure they make babywearing coats for men, either. The Kokoala works with any coat with a zipper closure, it works to accommodate a baby in a carrier or a pregnant belly, and it’s totally unisex.

How does it work?

When you order your coat extension, you will be taken through a couple of questions about the zipper on your coat. I didn’t realize the world of zippers was so complex, but based on your responses to your zipper survey, you will be given a specific zipper code. Use this code to order the correct zippers for your coat! If you plan to use it in a variety of coats, no problem! Just complete the survey for each coat’s zipper.

When it arrives, the Basic Zip-in Coat Extension looks like this:

The outer is waterproof, and the inner is fleece-lined:

Kokoala Babywearing & Maternity Coat Extension ReviewNotice the velcro strips along the sides of the insert. This is where you will attach your zippers. The velcro is the most super-stickiest velcro I’ve ever seen, by the way.

Those are my zippers, and all I have to do is line them up so that the extension zips perfectly into my coat. Since my coat is waist length, I fold up the extra material at the bottom (narrowest part), and it stays in place thanks to the velcro.

Kokoala Babywearing & Maternity Coat Extension Review ~ Maman Loup's DenThe zipper strip extends a bit too far at the top of the extension since my coat is short. Included with your zippers are two little strips of additional velcro, allowing you to fold down and secure the extra length of zipper if your coat requires.

Kokoala Babywearing & Maternity Coat Extension Review ~ Maman Loup's DenThe toggles allow you to adjust the fit depending on your baby’s size. Babywearing selfie time!

Kokoala Babywearing & Maternity Coat Extension Review ~ Maman Loup's DenBecause the zippers detach, you can reverse them and use the insert upside down, turning your coat into a maternity coat! Here’s me trying the Kokoala for the first time this past spring at the Montreal Baby Expo:

Kokoala also makes a variety of accessories for use with its coat extension. The baby hood adds extra protection from the elements, and velcros easily inside the extension.

Their Babywearer Neck Gaiter solves my biggest winter-babywearing pet peeve: my cold chest. Unless you’re wearing a turtle neck (and I cannot stand wearing a turtle neck), you always end up with some exposed skin around your neck and chest. The Kokoala scarf is kind of like a dickey, and it totally solves the problem.

What I love about the Kokoala Coat Extension:

  • You can wear it with any zippered coat you own.
  • One insert can be used both by you and your partner, assuming you’ve only got one baby to wear.
  • The same insert can be turned upside down to use over a pregnant belly.
  • You can dress your child lightly (and thus, safely) in the car seat, knowing she’ll be warm inside your coat when you arrive at your destination.
  • You can avoid the expense of a babywearing coat.
  • Made in Quebec, Canada.
  • It’s genius.

The only disadvantage that I can think of is that you cannot use it for a back carry.

Once I find a winter coat that is to my liking, I’ll be buying another set of zippers so I can zip my Kokoala in! The Basic Extension sells for $70, and the zippers range from $16-$20, depending on the kind you need.

Update (December 2015)

Visiting my parents in Vancouver over Christmas, my Kokoala was indispensable to keep Little Miss dry in rainy We(s)t Coast weather!

This is the best add on to a coat I have ever seen! Great review and product thanks!

  2. Amy Howard

I love that you can wear it with multiple coats!! Also love that you can use it while you’re preggo!!!

  3. Thank you so much for this review. I didn’t know these were out there! Absolutely love the idea. It really is tough to dress your baby for our super cold winters. Especially when they are too big to just be stay in their infant carseat. This would make it so easy! And babyweariing rocks!

  4. Erin Aiton

This looks fantastic. I have been so stressed about wearing my son in the winter months. Now I know I don’t have to worry about either of us being cold. ☺

  5. Allison Rice

Cold chest! I never thought about that. But since I’m always wearing low cut tops right now for easy breastfeeding access, this makes sense! I’m definitely looking into one of their scarves now n

  6. Claudia Marcil

    Thank you for this review

  7. Matthew Stewart

Like that you can get different zipper attachments to use with alternate coats!

  8. Katarzyna Chea

This coat extender is awesome! I love that it can adjust tighter to ‘hug’ your baby and doesn’t have that typical bulky bag feel that most Babywearing coats have. The multiple zipper option is even more fabulous so you can wear it with your fall coat and then again your big winter coat too! Wish I had it when I was pregnant through the winter with my first 3 years ago!!!!!

  9. Julie Brunet

Thank you for this useful review. I wasn’t aware of how easy this extension was easy to wear. Now I cannot wait to have one. 🙂

  10. Jessica Llanos

Thank you so much for posting this giveaway (along with the product review) I’ve been on the search for something I can wear in the winter thats babywearing friendly!

    🙂

  11. Carolyn

Love this review, I am searching for a perfect, affordable panel for winter, we are an “outside” family so I’d like little miss to be warm and comfortable too this winter. Thanks!

    1. Missy Farina

These look awesome! I love that you are able to wear it with coats you already own!

  12. Grace

This is great! I’ve been looking something to add on to my coat while pregnant. It’s a huge plus that this can then be used to babywearing!

  13. Maranda Carlson

I seen the periscope of the extension and it looks incredibly simple and ingenious.

  14. Marie-Daphnee Bérubé

Oh wow, this review is in time, I jist planned to buy one bit I was insure. Now I know that I want one to wear m’y little daughter.

  15. Emily Hopkins

I would love to hear a comparison between the Kokoala and Makemybellyfit coat extensions for baby wearing.

  16. Elizabeth Parker

While I will agree that the only real downfall is that it cannot be used for back carrying, (obviously because how are you going to back carry wearing a jacket), I think the idea of a coat extension, not just a babywearing jacket, is amazing! ?

  17. Armi

I love your reviews! This is totally brilliant.

  18. Julie Marino

This is so cleverly designed. The Velcro, mirror zippers and better than a while specific coat. Great!

  19. Sarah

Great extension this would be very helpful as my newborn is supposed to arrive in December

  20. Jaquelynn Rodriguez

This is so useful and purely genius, I’d never seen one of these before, however it’s pretty pricey and I think I would rather just get a jacket that has enough room to babywear or one made specifically for babywearing… I really do like that it can be worn with any jacket you own, and that almost outweighs the fact that it costs so much…ALMOST

  21. Ingenuity is right! What a brilliant idea. I love that it can be used by dads too!

  22. Morgan

This looks awesome! I have a 20 month old I like to wear and I’m expecting so I could use the extension for multiple purposes!

  23. Heather

I wish I had a zipper coat, but at the same time my little one likes my back best.

  24. Lauren

Love that this eliminates the need for yet another coat!

  25. Tiffany Blank

This is so amazingly versatile! I love it! Just take a coat you already have and voila! Maternity coat AND babywearing coat. As I was reading, I was wondering about a hood for baby. I’m glad you can add it on!

  26. Stephanie M

This is a wonderful and very thorough review. This product is exactly what I’m looking for! I would love to be able to wear my daughter this winter in my own coat instead of borrowing my husbands big ugly camping jacket!

  27. Christina H

I’ve been looking for a babywearing solution for the winter and this sounds perfect! I love the flexibility for use in many different coats so I don’t have to only use the same coat all winter or my husband can use it with his coat.

  28. Alica I

This looks awesome! And I love that we can just order new zippers so my husband and I can both enjoy baby wearing this winter and not have to buy two separate extenders for our jackets ?

  29. Sara Califf

This looks great! I need something like this.

  30. Pam

This would make bringing my 4 year old to the bus stop a lot warmer for me and 2 month old brother.

  31. Maegen Peck

This is the best thing for babywearing! Keeping baby and mama warm! ?

  32. Kyla

What a great idea! I love baby wearing and don’t want to give it up in the winter!

  33. Frannie

What a great product for babywearers! I just recently sold my babywearing coat because it was a bit big for me, and I needed the money to help fund my kids’ swimming lessons. This is an awesome piece of gear in order to continue using your “normal” coats, instead of specialty coats. Although I did like how my babywearing coat could be used with baby on back.
I help run our local babywearing group, and I’ll be sharing this on the group page to get the word out. Thanks for the review!

  34. Sarah Moreno

    I seriously love this coat!!

  35. Candice woods

I’ve been looking at purchasing one of these. It’s awesome that you wore both pregnant and babywearing. So it’s an honest review! Thanks

  36. erika

The minute I saw this inotably wanted one! Such a great idea for mama’s to be and babywearing!

  37. Tracy Choy

Thanks for the review. I really liked the video since it showed how to use the extension. It’s great that you could wear it while pregnant also. When I was preggors last year I had to wear an large sweatshirt underneath my jacket.

  38. Anel

This is so genius! I love this product! It would make going out in the winter much easier! It’s so simple and so practical! Does it only come in black? Thank you!

    1. Lindsay

I believe they have it in grey, too!

  39. Karen F

Great review! We just got ours and I misjudged that the zipper would work for both hubby and my coats… So only hubby can wear her warmly until the other extension comes! I can’t wait to give this a whirl!

  40. Nelly B.

Awesome product!!! When you go through the zipper survey, is it hard to determine what zipper attachment you need? I didn’t realize there were different zippers either! Couldn’t love this product anymore, and I don’t even own one lol! Thanks!

    1. Lindsay

If you can read, you are golden! So easy!

  41. Amber

Such a great extension. Love to use it with baby and makes me want to be pregnant again to try it out that way too!!

  42. Kendra

Great investment piece! Especially love that it can be worn during pregnancy and then baby wearing. Great review!

  43. Danielle Jones

We just finished talking about babywearing in the cold, although Virginia cold is no where close to Canada cold! This looks like such a great addition to any babywearers closet. Have you had the ziiper velcro come off, mid-wear?

    1. Lindsay

So far, so good- it’s honestly THE STRONGEST velcro I have ever experienced. It would have to be pulled, HARD, to come off midwear!

  44. Jenn

You are right- quite ingenuitive! They have thought of everything!
And soooo true about the neck. I need me one of those scarves!

  45. Thank you for the thorough review with pics. I like the additional items that you can buy to extend the use of your coats.

  46. Jess M

This really is nice to see someone review. You never know how it will really work. What a great product!

  47. Becca Kauer

Wow! What and incredibly well-designed product! I clicked over here from the giveaway post on Facebook and I honestly wasn’t expecting this kind of clever product. It’s such a good idea to have the Velcro to make it useful for different coats with different zippers! I’m so glad I saw this giveaway. I love hearing about cool new products like this.

  48. Alishia Chamney

The fact that it can go on a men’s coat so my husband could wear My son is genius! This seems like such an easy system!

  49. Brenna

I had seen it before it wondered about zipper length. Super neat how they made it so adjustable with the sticky stickies velcro to cover ends and adjust length. I didn’t realise I would be able to get multiple zippers for different coats. This thing is genius! And to be able to share it with hubby for those reasons. A way better INVESTMENT than a babywearing sweater.
They need to market this better because it is so much more than it seems.
I wish i bought this when pregnant.
    thank you for your review.

  50. Corrie Colter

The design of this extension is brilliant. The cost is manageable and it allows me to not have to buy an whole other jacket. I had heard of them before but wasn’t sold on it until your detailed blog!

  51. Amélie L.

I always wanted to try one, thanks for your review!

  52. Melissa P M

Love the look of this product! Would absolutely love to try it!

  53. Madeleine LeClerc

I wish they had a back carry coat! This is neat though because you can wear your own coats 🙂

  54. Tamara

What a great idea!! Keeps baby close and warm, especially in those cold winters 🙂

  55. Kacey Postill

Appreciate the honest review. Fingers and Toes crossed I WIN 1 in ur FANTASTIC contest ?? Thank you so very much for the opportunity ?

  56. Arista Sedivi

I love that you can even do this!!! This is so awesome!!!

  57. Jackie

Thank you for reviewing this. I saw peeks of this from ABC Kids Expo posts and couldn’t wait to see if it was as functional and fashionable as shown. Glad to see that it is a fantastic option for keeping baby and momma toasty!

  58. Teresa

Great review! I’ve been deciding on whether this is a worthwhile purchase!

  59. Maria Brown

Wow! What a fantastic idea and product! I’m always trying to keep a baby blanket on me to cover baby’s legs that are exposed when I’m wearing her. This would be so much less tacky and functional. Going on my wish list!

  60. Kari Barone

I like the fact that it zips into your winter coat and can match its zipper.Maternity and babywearing is greatly versatile. I would love this as babywearing in the winter is much more practical than using a stroller. Thanks for the review.

  61. Thank you so much for this awesome review! This product is perfect for the chilly Alberta weather and I know my babe will be nice and warm when I wear her! Also love that you can wear it during pregnancy too. This would have come in handy last winter for me haha Cannot wait to get one!

  62. Sarah Lear

    Lovely review, thank you! 🙂

  63. Meg

This is very well designned, the fact that the excess material folds and velcros away if fantastic. I’d imagine a less-well thought out design would trim-to-fit on the zippers and then it would only fit a single coat. This design allows it to work well in mom and dad’s jackets, fall or winter weight. Love it!

  64. Mckenzie blankenship

This is amazing! My family just got stationed to Washington from Florida! So we are new to the cold but love to embrace babtwearing in the winter! Thank you

  65. Genevieve Campbell

I’m glad kokoala gets a nice review because I am looking for a solution so I can babywear during the cold Quebec winter months!

  66. Katrina

Thank you for your review! I’ve been really curious about this insert. My parka is long so I wonder how well this would fit.

  67. Lauren West

This is is such aa brilliant idea! I was thinking about buying a babywearing jacket, but this seems so much more versatile.

  68. Marina

Great review! Now I wish I had one!

  69. April Schiro

This is such a neat innovation!

  70. Samantha Larmer

I have been wondering about this, great to see your review. Would love to wear this while snowshoeing!

  71. Laura Carty

I would love one for these for once my son arrives!!

  72. Heather Dalton

I’ve been looking at a bunch of different options for baby wearing in the cold because we will be spending a ton of time in the snow with baby attached. I love the details of this particular insert. It looks very well crafted. I love that I can order different zipper adapters so my husband and I can both wear her. It’s pretty rad!

  73. Sarah Parker

I seriously love all your reviews, they are so well written!

  74. Laurie

Great review, this product is so versatile for pregnancy and baby wearing. I will have to try it someday, perhaps with baby number two.

  75. Brittany

I’m glad you did a review on this, as I would have never found out they existed! Was sort of dreading buying a babywearing coat due to the price. Thank you

  76. Mykaela Ryrie

Thank you for the awesome review!

  77. Sarah Thurston

I so want one of these!!!!!!! my 5 month old loves being worn!!

  78. Heidi

I saw this at a local store before I was even pregnant. It’s so ingenious! I didn’t know about the scarf until I read your review however, and that is also a fantastic idea. Thank you for the great review.

  79. Rebecca rOde

This is such a smart design! Two questions – how big of a baby will it fit? Up to toddler years, or really just newborn? Also, is it ethically made?

    1. Lindsay

So the toggles will definitely help to accommodate toddlers, too, as you can widen the insert quite a bit. I’ve got it at its tightest for my little one. Ethically made in Quebec! (And thanks for the reminder, I’m adding that detail to my post!)

  80. Rebecca

I love that you can purchase extenders for different jackets! We live in Northern Wisconsin and I can’t survive winter without a full length parka and this is the first baby wearing panel I’ve seen that can be made to work with on. I typically wearing our son over my coat but that makes me need to have him in a snowsuits which isn’t very handy. This could really make our outings much easier!

  81. Catherine Warne

Amazing! Thanks for the great and thorough review. I think I need one of these for myself:)

  82. Wow! Great review! Very thorough! And darn it! Now I want one!

  83. sarah charbonneau

I have been looking for something like this since I found out I was pregnant. My local baby shop only has one, and it doesn’t have the option of customizable zippers so I would have to buy a new coat, which I can’t really afford! This looks like a fantastic product!

  84. amber

Love this review! So informative, I am going to share with my cousin who
I know will LOVE THIS! Babywearing this backwards sounds like a hilarious challenge that I think you should try … with a doll… and videotape it .. kidding… teeehheeee

  85. Stephanie Mortimore

This. Is. GENIUS.I was just wearing an extra extra large hoodie and zipping it around us, but I knew there had to be a better way.

  86. Nicole B

This or the Lilliputi. Such a tough call! This is affordable! But the Lilliputi does back carries! That’s how the little man is typically carried when we’re not at home. Decisions, decisions.
It looks great, and I’m glad to hear it is the stickiest velcro that ever was. 🙂

  87. Krista Morris

I love this product!!! Such a great idea, being able to easily and warmly wear your baby in the winter is the best! Only wish I had known about these last winter when I was pregnant the struggle for a nice jacket is real!!!

  88. Deanna Beckworth

What a fantastic product and great review! Will be so helpful! As a mom of 5, I need all the helpful products I can get!

  89. Heidi Dissmore

This would be great for cold wisconsin winters!!

  90. May li

I love that the coat is fleecelined! I get so cold and many coats don’t feel warm at all to me! This sounds like ot coukd be perfect and be able to put your child in the car seat without having to take their jacket off.

  91. This looks very cool! I think you probably could back carry if you don’t mind a good in your face ?

  92. Rekha

Great review! I saw them in the local baby store but wasn’t sure if it’d be wroth the price. It seemed only for pregnancy, but now I see it’s a good cover for baby wearing, too! Now I have to decide, do we get this kind or the other cover, like the pookie or babygloo…

  93. Amber Ludwig

Love it so much!! I loooooove that I don’t have to buy a baby wearing jacket!! I have tried to squeeze my son into an oversized jacket and look ridiculous lol! Now him and I can both be comfortable! I love that they take different zippers and cost lengths into consideration!!

  94. Briana Simpson

How cozy is the insert? I just wonder how warm it would be in cold winter weather. It looks really cool, I have seen it advertised and it is on my radar for the next pregnancy/baby!

    1. Lindsay

Truly, very warm, especially considering your body heat added into the mix. Depending on the temperature, you can also dress baby in more layers.

  95. Monica Miller

Thank you so much for introducing me to this – I’ve registered for the insert and the hood and will be purchasing it myself if no one does it for me or if I don’t win. Such a great product!

  96. Lucia Hornakova

Love it sooo much! ???? Hope to win it! ?

  97. jodi Armstrong

I love that it is an extension vs a complete coat so you can swap it into different coats depending on the weather. Also love that it can be a maternity adjustment.

  98. Alison Johnston

This is such an ingenius product, i cannot wait to own one!!

  99. Erin

This is a fantastic idea! I love that it makes the coat you already own so much more versatile. It’s a great idea that you can use it during pregnancy and then either parent or any caregiver can use it for baby wearing!

  100. Steph S

Thanks for the review and the giveaway! I love that it can be swapped between jackets so mum and dad don’t need separate babywearing coats!

  101. Rija

Love love this idea, would love to have it while was pregnant, but now i can use it with my baby..would be awesome to know/feel my sweetheart is warm while we are walking!

  102. Josee Roy

Awesome info, as always! Keep up the good work!

  103. Tasha Wheaton

Great review!! I so need one of these.

  104. I tried to make myself on last year, but it didn’t turn out nearly as nice.

  105. Rebecca Cameron

This is the best looking coat extension I’ve seen. Can’t wait to try it with my newest little one!

  106. Jules

Fantastic review! Love all the pictures too ?

  107. Amber Delorme

What an Excellent Review , I really appreciate you Sharing this Review..I never knew such a Groovy contraption even existed..I’d absolutely Love to give this a try..It looks super comfy to wear, wheather your pregnant or even right after babe is born, and the Best part is its warm looking And it also looks completely Soft yet Sturdy..And I like the color of the add on, which is “Black” as it goes with every color jacket/coat one may own

  108. Sally Harrison

This is an amazing coat attachment! Awesome review and product thanks!

  109. Hayley Triplett

I think this is the best hack to getting out of buying a new coat just for baby wearing I have seen yet! Great review!

  110. Alexandra

Nice review, as always! Thanks for sharing!

  111. Amanda Stano

My favorite thing about this is EVERYTHING! I am so thankful both of my children were born in the summer and I didn’t need this in the winter, however, now that my daughter is born, I’d love to wear her during the winter months and keep her warm without all the layers!

  112. laura ashleigh

The review is great! Love the step by step. Took me a while to read because I’m on my phone but worth it 🙂

  113. Amber

Omg this is one of the neatest thing I have ever seen!!

  114. Marielle den Hertog

I only have a babywearing sweater but this would be so much easier to put on and we can really use these in the Netherlands. I never knew about the zippers either. This sounds like a perfect option for us and both me and hubby can wear our little guy in the winter.

  115. Sean Linn

Thank you for your review! I had been eyeing up the KoKoala panel but had no idea how to customize it to fit a shorter coat (I wear a waist-length coat as well as a longer car-length coat!) and this had detered me! I am also thrilled to learn about the neck warmer As the had considered one but wasn’t sure that it would be of much use overall. Now I know that the neck warmer will also be a must-have!

  116. Thanks for the review! I’ve read a few of yours and it’s awesome to hear an unbiased view of a product from a fellow mama:) The extender looks great with your coat! I just bought a super warm down coat for the winter but I didn’t even think about babywearing when I purchased it, with the extender it would mean lots of room for me and babe!

  117. Heather

Thank you for your amazing review. When I first came across this, I was a little bit skeptical about how well it worked, so I needed to read that someone likes this, and for all the features it boasts, not just one of them. 😛 My only question now is what temperature is it rated to?

  118. Anjeanette Gagan

This is such a great idea. Love the fact that you won’t have to struggle with blankets and are able to use your pockets and be comfortable and have baby comfortable too!!

  119. Jennifer

Becoming a mom requires a village, thank goodness for good blogs & reviews like this or I would be up most nights researching so many things!!!

  120. Kelsey S

I could totally see myself using this extension. My plan for
The winter was to dress my boy up in his snowsuit to keep him warm. Is there a reason, besides the car seat dilemma that you wouldn’t want to do that? Would it be too bulky/uncomfortable for him? This product would be a better alternative to having to buy him many different snow suits this winter as he grows out of them, as well as buying mitts and boots.

  121. Lynsay

Wow ! Ingenious for our Canadian winters!!!

  122. Jess Brennan

Love this product! Wish I had known about it when I was pregnant. I went through so many coats – trying to keep up with my growing belly. And now, wearing arms sweater over my
Baby carrier. Ugh. Thank you for the review!!!

  123. Rebecca Troxell

This looks amazing! Such a smart idea, and way less bulky than some of the other babywearing coat options out there.
Thanks for the great review; I’ll be looking into this product!

  124. Gia Nahmens

This is a Great review! I just saw this and asked to get it for Christmas:) maybe You will be my early Santa;)

  125. Gia Nahmens

I don’t know what happened to my post! Hahaa I love this review and I love this extension from Kokoala I asked for it for xmas and maybe you will be my early Santa if I win it:)

  126. Kendra Oakden (Kendra Leigh)

What a great review. I did not think I’d be so impressed, now I really want to win and if I don’t win I’ll be adding this to my Christmas list. I went through some of your other posts and I am intrigued by your writing and topics! I am also interested in cloth diapering and am struggling to find information out there that does not overwhelm me and leave me incredibly confused…. I like how your posts are all individual based products, a quick review. I like that idea rather than feel overwhelmed!

  127. Amanda

What a fabulous idea! Just in time for winter walks, I’d love this!

  128. Alicia Ylioja

Great review! I’d love to try one out too! These are awesome!

  129. Megan

Great review, I’ve been looking into getting one myself as everyday at work I carry my son in his carrier!

  130. Holly B

This is genius. I had wondered how they got the zippers to match since there are so many different types. Your review explains it well. Thanks for the chance to win!

  131. Amanda Hrabi

Thanks for the great review. Nice to know that it’s interchangeable between moms coat and dads without needing a new zipper! Also, love that you can Velcro up the extra length for different coats. Thanks for the great review!

Very thorough and honest review. The photos were very helpful! I love that the zip in has such a protective hood and both mom and dad can use it?

  136. Tanisha Gonty

Wow! This couldn’t have been seen by me at a better time. My little girl is just getting to big to go in her wrap under my coat and I started having to steal my husband’s super bright and ugly work jacket to wear her!
I’m commenting for the extra entry to win but I must say you did a very thorough nice review and took beautiful pictures to go along! I’m so excited about this product!!

    1. Lindsay

  139. sharon b

this is so cool. a lot easier to use than my pouch I use over my Ergo.

  140. Amanda Farkash

I absolutely love this idea. Makes baby wearing in the cold months so much more easier and HUGE bonus to not having to buy a tent maternity jacket! These inserts are complete genius! Thank you for doing this review!!

Never knew this existed, such a smart idea!

  142. Michelle Sheppard

Love this! It’s so much nicer than having to buy a new jacket for my current baby bump, and then another for babywearing when baby is earth side!

This is an awesome extension to having you LO close to you and keeping warm, especially in our NL winters. I would love to win one of these.

Great review and great site. I’m here, and commenting for the first time because of the give away but I will be back for sure. I have a baby due in 2 weeks and have been wondering if I should buy a baby wearing coat, I didn’t even know inserts existed. I’m so excited!

  150. Carly Basu

This is the best thing ever for both pregnancy and winter baby wearing!!

  156. Ani

I agree a cold neck is the worst thing ever!! This would also work with a fleece coat with no hood for back carries right?

  157. Chelsea

Your review was very helpful as i have been searching for such a product as this! SK is cold!!! Thanks!

  158. Ghennadiene

I love what it can all do I would so love to try this out with my youngest

  159. Kelly Spence

This is such a brilliant invention! I have been looking everywhere for something to wear over my ergo baby carrier.

  160. Jennifer Guilbault

This is genius!!! I need this for our approaching winter here in Winnipeg, MB CANADA. I walk my older son to daycare everyday and we spend a lot of time outdoors playing and walking the dog. So now that we have a newborn, I like to wear him to keep my hands free. This would be the perfect way to keep him warm and keep us outside. Even when it gets down to -40*C!!!

  161. Jennifer Guilbault

P.S. I love that its Canadian too!!!

  162. Meghan Good

This is a very thorough article! Being able to adapt my regular winter coat would be so great. You post some great articles and resources!

  163. Very nice, this is a good invention for Germany 🙂
