I received this subscription box free for review. All opinions remain my own.
Subscription boxes can definitely rub my eco-responsible consumer sensibilities the wrong way. Not Conscious Box. A box that exposes more people to brands that are ethical, sustainable, use natural ingredients and are GMO-free? That totally works for me. I don’t know about you, but in my immediate surroundings, I do not have access to such products. (It’s a struggle to find organic milk in my ‘hood.)
I received a “Taster” sized Conscious Box, which can cost as little as $6.95 per month if you subscribe yearly (it’s $9.95 month-to-month). If you’re in the US, that price includes shipping.
My box contained sample sizes of:
- Somersets Extra Sensitive English Shaving Oil For Legs & Underarm and Extra Delicate for Bikini Line
- Lotus Moon Vitamin B Hydrating Gel Facial Moisturizer
- Primal Pit Paste
- Treat Simple Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Treats
- Date Lady Caramel Sauce
- Amki Sesame Snaps
- Justin’s Maple Almond Butter
- Lyft Clean Caffeine Energy Stir Stick
- Life Soap Company Soap
- Bolt Tape
- Xlear Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol
Especially at the reduced yearly subscription fee, this box is a good bang for your buck. The vast majority of the brands included I was not already familiar with, and I am always happy to find more companies that respect my greenie sensibilities.
So far I have tried the Primal Pit Paste, which I have loved! I have tried to make my own deodorant using the same ingredients, but clearly Primal Pit Paste has mastered the perfect proportions, because I like the consistency and non-greasiness of this far more than my home brew.
The shaving oil is perfect for introducing people to the idea that you don’t need an aerosol mousse to get a good shave. I often shave just using coconut oil.
Justin’s Almond Butter was probably delicious. I wouldn’t know, though, since my son ate all the toast!
I love the Lotus Moon facial moisturizer: it smelled amazing and my skin felt super hydrated. There are a surprising amount of applications in that tiny package!
I’m still discovering and sharing the other items in my box, and I think that’s the fun of getting a Conscious Box each month: sharing the goodies with friends and family!
