Did you know that October 5-11, 2014 is International Babywearing Week? Every day during the event will be about promoting and celebrating babywearing according to different themes. The theme for this Sunday is “Shout it Out.” What better way to do it than with a… BABYWEARING FLASH MOB?!
Karine Cloutier, a cultural outreach artist, is organizing a Flash Mob on Sunday, October 5th from 10:00-11:00 at Place Simon-Valois (rue Valois/rue Ontario Est) in the borough of Hochelaga. The Facebook event is in French, but let me give you an overview of the details:
- We all show up with our babies in tow for 10 AM;
- Karine will be near the cafe, Arhoma, and the speaker will be visible;
- As soon as the music starts, everyone gathers into a circle;
- The dance moves take place in a circle, moving to meet in the centre, moving back out, and carrying out the moves from side to side in the circle.
Here’s the video with all the moves:
If you’re in Montréal, will you be attending? I’ll be there with my BFF, Adrienne! If you’re not in my ‘hood, check to see if any events are taking place near you.
