In the past, I’d just sprinkled my matcha straight into my smoothies. (Note that you need very little matcha for one serving, so one bag will go a long way!) Kiss Me Organics recommends whisking your matcha with some warm water to make a paste before adding it to the recipe:
The resulting smoothie is very tasty. One thing I appreciate about adding matcha to smoothies, besides the health benefits and energy boost, is that it cuts down the sweetness of the fruits. Drinking a matcha smoothie at 3pm (my usual time for a cup of orange pekoe or coffee) leaves me feeling refreshed, without the usual caffeine crash.
The next recipe I’m going to try is Matcha-Mole… yup… guacamole with matcha!
