Ode to London Drugs, Shopper’s Drug Mart & Well.ca:
If I could turn back time,
I’d give no dough to you.
I’d take back all that cash that I paid you,
And I’d say:
I don’t know why I bought the things I did.
I don’t know why I tried the scrubs you sold.
Three things like weapons they scrub through that dead skin:
Sugar, Vitamin E & Coconut Oil, it’s WIN, WIN, WIN!
In my lifetime I’ve spent a lot of money on beauty products. When I first started earning income as a babysitter, I would spend a ton of it on potions and lotions and all kinds of make up. One of the first things I bought, I still remember, was some Gilette shaving cream in a pretty purple and turquoise pump. I really bought in to the marketing of skincare and beauty products with my whole heart and soul and hard-earned babysitting money. Oh, if I could turn back time!
I’ve severely reduced my purchases in this area and can’t believe the savings, not to mention the amount of harmful chemicals and perfumes I no longer apply to my body. Needless to say, I haven’t bought shaving cream in ages. For a long time I was just using a squirt of whatever conditioner I had on hand, and lately I’ve actually been using coconut oil.
This weekend my husband commented that my skin was really dry and flaky. He was right… it was time for a scrub. And gosh darn it I was not going to buy one! So I found this overwhelmingly simple recipe from Wellness Mama. I was using it within minutes, and now my skin is silky smooth!
